Clarenden Select Insurance Co. v. Country Club Homes of Florida, Inc.

BCA trial victory in Florida State District Court involving a residence fire in Palm Coast, Florida. A fire broke out at an upscale home after the homeowner went to bed following a dinner party. The plaintiff’s alleged that our client was negligent in the construction and design of a built-in grill that was located too close to the structure and used inappropriately combustible materials.

Our origin and cause experts and engineers performed a forensic examination that showed the grill was left on overnight and started a grease fire. After a week-long trial, the jury returned a defense verdict and we even recovered defense costs from one of the co-defendants who filed a cross-claim against our client.
